yay me

So I’ve slowly been working on eating healthier. I’ve cut out chips – potato and tortilla, my 2 biggest downfalls – and, for the most part, caffiene. I will still indulge, about once every couple of weeks, in a Monster energy drink, but compared to my intake before (somewhere in the ballpark of 150-400 mg per day), I’m way back. I’ve switched to decaf coffee as well, which I know still has some caffiene, but still way less than I was consuming.

I’ve also started working out with a friend at the local gym. This week we went 3 times, and I was able to walk over 2 miles in 45 minutes…not too bad, considering I haven’t really exercised in over 6 months. Next week we’re supposed to work out together twice. I think I’m going to sign up for a membership at the gym (again; I let it lapse after the blowout with BIL because he works there and it was uncomfortable to go), and since I’m a college student I get a pretty sweet discount.

I’d forgotten how good it felt to work out. I’m hooked, again 🙂

Next on the healthier eating agenda: less white bread — basically less carbs overall. I’ve taken to eating whole grain bread and no more than 2-3 slices per day. However I’ve also substituted croutons for chips, and I know that while it is healthier in the less fat, probably less calories kind of way, I also know that I need to start substituting veggies and fruit for that.

One last thing is I try very hard not to eat after 7:30-8:00 at night. This is harder, but I’m working on it.

This week I have PMS. My weight Monday was 219; this morning it was down to 215.6 — not shabby for a week where my weight fluctuates within a 5 pound range.
